Nearshore Atlantic Bonito

The Atlantic Bonito (Albacore Tuna) have shown up in good numbers early. We ventured out about 3 miles yesterday and were able to catch 25 in a matter of a couple hours. These fish are extremely good eating and not to be confused with the Bonita that is not good eating. If your looking for a shorter trip that yields good eating fish this is the time to do it!
Wahoo Smackdown

Today I took a group of two to the Gulfstream on a 12 hour trip. We were met with constant action from Wahoo and Blackfin Tuna, with only two charter customers we could only keep our limit of 4 wahoo which was reached within an hour. We continued to catch and release wahoo for the next couple of hours until we ran out of ballyhoo. Total for the day was 11 wahoo! awesome trip, book yours today!
Blackfin Tuna
The Blackfin Tuna were hungry and plentiful today. My clients stocked the cooler with plenty of fresh sashimi!

Wicked Tuna

Its that time of year! For the past couple years I’ve been going up to Nags Head in the outer banks of North Carolina for the Bluefin Tuna Season. This year the fishing was incredible and we were lucky enough to get one almost every time that we went out. The total tally at the end of the season was 9 fish with the biggest weighing over 500 pounds dressed (without the head, guts or tail) so with all that he would have probably been around 600 total at 106 inches.
