We had a 1 man wrecking crew today, after a slow morning bite it suddenly was all you wanted in the afternoon with multiple doubles and triples of Blackfin Tuna and an absolute heartbreaker at the end when we lost an absolutely giant yellowfin tuna. Matthew had all he wanted and then some, Plenty of sashimi!

March Full Day Bottom Fishing

March is typically a very windy/rough month here in coastal North Carolina. The few days we can get offshore can yield some fun results. Today we went on a jigging trip and had plenty of action ranging from groupers to African Pompano, the groupers were lucky it wasn’t May 1st!
1000 Pound Bluefin Tuna
The Bluefin Tuna fishing was off the charts this January. We ended the season with 10 Bluefin, our biggest coming in at 114 Inches and weighing just north of 1000 pounds! He ate a live bluefish in about 20 feet of water. Just a stones throw from the beach.
Fall Smoker King Mackerel
This 8 hour trip had their hands full with constant action from a very good class of king mackerel that ranged from 20 to 35 pounds along with a couple surprise mahi!
Massive Wahoo

Its rare that you get to see a Wahoo over 90 pounds, its really rare when you get to see two in one day over 90 pounds. Had an awesome day on the break with 5 wahoo and a tuna. The two bigger wahoo went 97 and 93 pounds.
Captain Rogers Wahoo Tournament Champions!
This year we fished Captain Rogers Wahoo tournament, a two month long aggregate wahoo tournament that supports the family of Captain Roger Gales who died of cancer a couple years ago. I worked with Roger at the Ocean Isle Fishing Center where I got my start in the offshore fishing world. I love to fish it regardless of what place I come in strictly because of the cause of the tournament but man it felt good to win this one! very proud of the team that helped me and looking forward to fishing it again next year.
Wilmington Deep Sea Fishing
The offshore fishing out of Wrightsville Beach can be phenomenal at all times of the year. You can have a shot at big Wahoo and Blackfin tuna during the winter and fall (some Wahoo close to 100 pounds) in the gulf stream then Mahi, Blackfin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Sailfish and marlin during the spring months as well as monster grouper all through the spring and summer! inshore we usually have a steady bite of king mackerel as well as the occasional mahi and sailfish. The wrecks are full of hard fighting amberjacks, barracuda, sharks and cobia throughout the summer, the bottom dwellers are cooperative 90% of the time which include all kinds of snappers, groupers, triggerfish, grunts, seabass and cobia. I love to target all of these species no matter what the skill of the angler. I really enjoy seeing someone catch their personal best or even their first fish ever! We have multiple different trip options to fit your needs. Give me a call today at 828-429-8076 to book your trip!
Big Winter Wahoo
Had the pleasure of taking a long time customer and family friend fishing today, ended up with 7 wahoo with 1 of them going 92 pounds!

Just a sample of what the summer fishing is like, off the charts!
Another Successful Stream Trip

The month of may has been awesome so far, with Yellowfin Tuna and Mahi providing consistent fishing when the warm water pushes in close to the break. I took Erik and his crew on Thursday 5/14 and had steady action throughout the day. All crew members got their biggest fish of their lives, great job guys!
