A first for us while we were sword fishing. Oil Fish are extremely good eating in very SMALL portions otherwise you’re gonna need a surplus of toilet paper. Another thing that was surprising to me was how sharp their scales are. If you ever get the chance to hold one I would do so wearing gloves!

Winter Time Research

Today myself and Mike Accattato, who’s family owns Terrazzo Trattoria in Wilmington, had a weather window to get offshore and try out the new trolling motor as well as take a look at some deepwater grouper spots I like to fish in the spring. All groupers were catch and release (grouper season opens May 1) but they are definitely there and hungry! we had multiple scamps and a lot of big gags. One of with was in the upper 40 pounds class. Hoping this spring will be a good one!
Breaking in the new boat, it catches!
We took the Yellowfin out on Monday just to break it in and see how it fishes. Couldn’t have been more pleased! ended up catching a 300 pound sword for the first fish on the boat!
32 Yellowfin
Im very excited to announce that from now on I will be running a 32 yellowfin center console for our charters! The Cape Horn did its job but we needed something a little bigger and a little faster/more stable. The yellowfin is a foot longer, a foot wider, and 4000 pounds heavier. cruising at 30 knots itll get you to the fish faster as well as give you more time fishing. It’s also equipped with a trolling motor and upper station. Were very excited for what this year has in store, looking forward to seeing you aboard!
Bluefin Tuna
Just because its winter doesn’t mean we stop fishing! We dont often have people book charters in the winter so when theres a weather window we are usually chasing tunas around. today me and my fiance got lucky with a 93 incher.
November Royalty
The king mackerel fishing has been on fire and should stay that way for a couple more weeks if the water temperatures stay up. Get on them today!
Fall Wahoo Fishing
This group earned it today. The ocean was a little rougher than expected but these guys and girls didn’t complain once and had 10 wahoo in the boat before noon! Hopefully the bite keeps up like this, book now to get them while they’re biting!
September Wahoo
Great late summer wahoo bite today! these guys have been coming with me since the very start and have been rescheduled due to weather too many times to count. But their patience finally paid off and they were rewarded with a slick calm day and a lot of meat in the cooler!
Mid-summer fishing
Fishing in the middle of the summer can sometimes be tough but theres always something to catch especially on our full day bottom trips. We had plenty of triggerfish and other good eats including this big fire truck red grouper!
Spring African Pompano!
Today we took two of our repeat customers on a 12 hour trip, we started by trolling for black fin tuna. Once we had about a dozen of those and some mahi we switched gears and tried some jigging and found the pompanos biting! African Pompano are extremely good eating and put up a great fight
