The offshore fishing out of Wrightsville Beach can be phenomenal at all times of the year. You can have a shot at big Wahoo and Blackfin tuna during the winter and fall (some Wahoo close to 100 pounds) in the gulf stream then Mahi, Blackfin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Sailfish and marlin during the spring months as well as monster grouper all through the spring and summer! inshore we usually have a steady bite of king mackerel as well as the occasional mahi and sailfish. The wrecks are full of hard fighting amberjacks, barracuda, sharks and cobia throughout the summer, the bottom dwellers are cooperative 90% of the time which include all kinds of snappers, groupers, triggerfish, grunts, seabass and cobia. I love to target all of these species no matter what the skill of the angler. I really enjoy seeing someone catch their personal best or even their first fish ever!
