The nearshore action for the 4 and 6 hour trips have been very productive. This picture was from a 4 hour trip where we didn’t go more than 5 miles off the beach that yielded plenty of Spanish Mackerel and some nice King Mackerel! all in site of the beach.

Despite an extremely windy early spring the Mahi have shown up in good numbers during our 12 hour trips along with some Blackfin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna and Wahoo.

March is typically a very windy/rough month here in coastal North Carolina. The few days we can get offshore can yield some fun results. Today we went on a jigging trip and had plenty of action ranging from groupers to African Pompano, the groupers were lucky it wasn’t May 1st!

The Bluefin Tuna fishing was off the charts this January. We ended the season with 10 Bluefin, our biggest coming in at 114 Inches and weighing just north of 1000 pounds! He ate a live bluefish in about 20 feet of water. Just a stones throw from the beach.

This 8 hour trip had their hands full with constant action from a very good class of king mackerel that ranged from 20 to 35 pounds along with a couple surprise mahi!

Its rare that you get to see a Wahoo over 90 pounds, its really rare when you get to see two in one day over 90 pounds. Had an awesome day on the break with 5 wahoo and a tuna. The two bigger wahoo went 97 and 93 pounds.

The Yellowfin Tuna have made a surprise appearance off our coast for the first time in almost ten years!! we had 7 of these nice size tunas on Sunday and expect for them to stick around for a couple more weeks. Mahi were also very plentiful
